For Day 5, we decided to put a metallic spin on one of our favorite projects from last year! Be sure to follow along here on the site or on Facebook to see all 12 days!
Last year we showed you this Ornament Display Tree, and we loved it! The triangle tree shape is just so fun, that we had to try it again this year. Only just as the tree. We’ve made three different sizes so you can make them and give them as gifts or save them for your mantel!

Angle Jig Dimensions
Construction Steps
Step 1
Cut out the base of the tree, Part A. It’s a simple block of wood.
Step 2
Cut out part B. Each end of part B will be cut at a 20.1° angle. Make sure that the angle is cut when the piece is standing on the 3/4″ edge. This will be the same for all the rest of the parts. Center part B on top of part A. Nail and glue the two parts together.
Step 3
Cut out part C. The bottom end will be cut at a 20.1° angle and the other top end would be cut at a 49.9° angle. After the part is made nail and glue part C and B together.
In order to cut the 49.9° angle you would need to make and use a simple angle jig. The angle jig will allow you to set your miter saw at only 4.9° to get a 49.9° angle. See diagram for how to layout the jig on the miter saw.
Step 4
Cut out part D. Part C will have a 49.9° angle on the top and a 20.1° angle at the bottom. Nail and glue this piece to the top of part C and the bottom of part B.
Step 5
Paint it the color of your choice.
