A Napa Inspired Dining Room: Old World Meets Modern

Hey Everyone! I’m Sarah from Just The Bees Knees and I’m back to share another inspiring mood board with you! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE to travel. Exploring different landscapes, architecture and surroundings, and experiencing different lifestyles and cultures is so inspiring to me. You can learn so much about design from traveling the world, or even different places within the North America. I’ve created mood boards in the past depicting different styles such as Morrocan Style and Southern Style, and today I’m going to share some inspiration from a beautiful place I traveled to a few years ago; Napa Valley California.

If you have ever traveled out to this California wine region, you will know that it depicts an Earthy, old World feel with a slightly modern touch. Colors are inspired by the breathtaking surroundings; worn woods, wrought iron, warm earthy tones and natural foliage. Let’s take a look at some inspiring images that portray a feeling of being immersed in Napa Valley.

Dining Al Fresco is a huge part of life in Napa Valley, and if I lived where the weather and the scenery is consistently breathtaking, I too would be spending the majority of my time outdoors! So I decided to create a Napa Style dining room with all the elements from the inspirational images to show you how to re-create this look in your own home.

How to Create a Napa Inspired Dining Room

My color palette was inspired by the surroundings; rich, warm Earthy Tones and muted Neutrals. I used lots of weathered, reclaimed wood, a mix of wrought Iron and galvanized metals, and of course a lot of greenery! I love using plants that are native to the region, such as olive trees and branches, as well as succulents.  The rug and the nail head trim accents also give the space a bit of an Old World feel. The overall space is warm and inviting, traditional with clean lines, and absolutely somewhere I would love to hang out and chat with friends over a glass of wine!
